Development of new CMS tool

Our client, a wonderful charity that works with children had outgrown their trusty case management tool. They had a bespoke tool that was built on Microsoft Access. Unfortunately, with the move to the cloud, Microsoft Access was no longer fit for purpose.

Andrews Duffy created a new tool. A tool fit for our cloud based world. We focused on keeping the tool lightweight and easy to use.

New Network

Our customer had to move to a new site. The move included the rollout of a new wired and wireless network. Ahead of the rollout we liaised with stakeholders and contractors to deliver IT services to where the customer required connectivity.

Part of these requirements were:

  • The planning of where electrical outlets
  • Network terminations
  • Desk installations

The final part of the structural cabling design was a heatmapping exercise for the mounting points for the Wi-Fi Access Points.

Network Cabinet Rehab

One of our favorite jobs is network cabinet rehabs. We plan and execute full overhauls of all types of Server rooms, network cabs and old frames. Many companies that have been in business for a while often go through upgrades or migrations. Very often old equipment and cabling get left behind. Frequently cabling is just left and no one really has the time or patience to weed out and sort the cabling. Well we do!

One such project was to cleanup over two decades of cabling and make sense of a network for the coming years.

Replacement of CCTV VMS

Closed Circuit TV or CCTV is critical for any companies that have an office. If you have employees or members of the public entering a premises that you are responsible for, you MUST have CCTV.

WHY?

CCTV can protect you, your employees and your property. It is now becoming important when dealing with the physical security portion of your cybersecurity stance. Some cybersecurity frameworks require CCTV for certification.

The example we have detailed in the document below is an example of how to upgrade a CCTV system to a cutting edge platform.

Queue Management System

Queue Management Systems became popular during Covid. Everyone will remember some shops and retailers having a traffic light system at their entrances.

But before COVID QMS systems were used by Airports to tell passengers how long their journey through security screening was going to take.

Some retailers use QMS systems to track customers trough their aisles. This can give retailers powerful insights as to where the bottlenecks are and how long people are lingering in front of displays. It can also indicate where customers are spending the least amount of time.

With this project we worked with a Canadian firm to deliver a Queue system for a Security Area.
